I did encounter that issue during my preliminary testing but was able to resolve by creating the following reg key to disable: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\common\officeupdate Value Name = hideupdatenotifications Value data: 1 Since I've added the above key, I no longer see the banner that once appeared in Outlook but now I'm noticing the following: ! In order to stop the Update, you can do CP>System>Windows Update>Change Settings. You can read more about Microsoft Update issues from as well. It appears that MS has released various Office 2013 without mutual coordination.

To disable Microsoft Update according to per user base just start regedit.exe and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer. Pick the option Enabled, press OK and exit from GPE. Before you can do that, you will need to install the Microsoft Office. The easiest way to keep users from seeing messages like the one shown above is to create a Group Policy setting that disables Microsoft 365 update messages. After that just double-click the option that says Disable and Remove Links to Windows Update or the one that says Remove links and access to Windows Update. Fortunately, Microsoft 365 update messages like the one shown in the screenshot below are relatively easy to disable.
